Rejoice in Our Living Savior
For some, the Lenten season takes on a somber temperament. Generally, discussions of death are not topics that imply joy or excitement. However, the death and resurrection of Jesus frames the discussion quite differently. Jesus promises to always be with us, through our joys and sorrows. His death paid our sin debt in full. His resurrection ensures that we will be with him when he returns. For us this is good news.
It is indeed sad that Christ had to suffer for our sin and dissidence. But thank God he loved us enough to suffer and sacrifice his earthly body that we might experience a life full of his presence and care. Remember that we serve a living savior. Christ was crucified because of God’s love for us. Envelop yourself in God’s love, and journey deeper this season in your relationship with Christ. Let us honor our Savior by the life that he has called us to live. Let us not just talk about the life of Jesus but demonstrate his love, grace and mercy. Let us be intercessors who not only share that good news but also increase his discipleship.
Rejoice my brothers and sisters; we serve a living Savior.
Prayer
Jesus our living Savior we give thanks and rejoice. Amen.
