Lent 2022: Foreword by Dr. Yvonne Bolling

March 1, 2022

Foreword

To God Be the Glory!

Two Thousand Twenty-two---A New Year

Members and friends of Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church have consistently prepared a booklet of reflections for Lent. In the midst of a continuing pandemic, we are pleased to be able to offer our messages to you this Lenten season. In this booklet we include words from our ancestors.

Lent is a time of year for us to more thoughtfully focus on what Jesus has done for us. We take time to sit still, be quiet, and contemplate the blessing of having a Savior who made the “Ultimate Sacrifice” for the world. We await God’s presence as we continue the work we are called to do on our Christian journey.

The devotions, scriptures, and prayers in this booklet written by members and friends of Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church open us to the journey each person is taking in this time of physical, mental, spiritual, social and economic issues. The thoughts and prayer of each writer come from a range of perspectives and emotions. Each testimony is a personal reflection of the writer’s experiences and all come from the heart.

We hope this booklet will be a rich resource, and that some aspect of the scripture, reflections or prayers will inspire you as you experience the season of Lent.

We find joy in knowing the Ultimate Sacrifice lead to RESURRECTION!

May God Bless You.
