"The godless spread lies about me, but I focus my attention on what you are saying."

3rd Day After Christmas
When the Breakthrough Happens
This summer went so fast, that as the school year started, I realized I needed to prepare differently. I needed to use this time to get ready for the next stage. I started each day surrounding myself with, scripture, song, prayer, and good people. Realizing the removal of things, objects and fog was for a reason. Getting down on my knees, releasing the past in preparation for another season and looking forward was difficult, but much needed.
As I am praying and waiting for the breakthrough. Lord, ‘Teach me…good judgment.” (Psalm 119: 66). Taking each day to show appreciation for what we have and how we all have made it is a blessing. I got my sea legs back.
To obstinate forces, I say, “you are not going to stop me just because you erected a barrier. I’m not going to let fear overtake me. It’s there, I can see it.” Sometimes we need a little fear to motivate us and move us beyond the past.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for self-discipline that brings our body, mind, words, and emotions under control. As I look back on my life, I can often see the ways you have used the hard times. Lord, help me to be faithful in following you regardless of hard times. Amen.
Advent 2022
We invite you to join us during the Advent season as we reflect on the virtues of Hope, Joy, Peace, and Love; as we anticipate Christ's birth; and prepare our hearts to receive him.
Each day a new reflection with a scripture and prayer will be posted on the Metropolitan AME Church website and social media to encourage you as we prepare.
Read along with us each day or download the book to read and reflect along with us offline.
